Garden Tour at the Armstrong Education Center in Pound Ridge.

Join the Pound Ridge Land Conservancy on a tour of their gardens at the Armstrong Education Center this Sunday, September 30th.  At ‘The Armstrong’, we took a normal backyard garden and turned it into a network of productive systems, include a diverse vegetable and herb garden, a honeybee colony, a tree nursery and native plant landscaping, all of which are linked to a multi-faceted compost system.  Additionally, construction has already begun on a chicken coop, which will house a small flock.  This ‘working landscape’ is intended to model the various values and sustainable uses of our backyards.  In our first year of fleshing out this working landscape we have come quite far.  Join the Tate Bushell, the PRLC’s Land Steward/Educator, on a demonstrational/informational tour of our gardens and learn practical ways to expand upon your own garden.  Canceled only in severe weather.

Date: Sunday, September 30th.

When:  1-3pm

Where: The Armstrong Education Center, 1361 Old Post Road, Pound Ridge

Cost: Free.
