FIRST DAY OF CAMP at The Pound Ridge Day Camp

Today was the first day of camp for the children of Pound Ridge.

The Pound Ridge Day Camp provides a variety of noncompetitive activities and events for campers ages 5 to 13, to foster personal growth, physical fitness, group responsibility and independence in a fun-filled, safe, well-supervised setting. Activities include baseball, field games, swimming, arts and crafts, tennis, sand volleyball, nature/science and dance. Special events such as pizza/ice pop days, the annual summer carnival, sponsored by the Pound Ridge PBA, guest entertainers, “Stories in the Park,” hosted by the Pound Ridge children’s librarian and field trips round out the program.

Further options on the calendar include a selection of weekly specialty camps.

Joe Klausz is beginning his tenth summer as our Day Camp Director.  During the school year, Joe teaches physical education at Fox Lane High School and is the coordinator of health and physical education for the Bedford Central School District. Joe has been in the Bedford Central School District for eleven years.

NEW & EXCITING teen travel camp program runs 3 days a week for the same six weeks as our regular camp. 18 trips in the tri-state area such as Grand Prix, Lake Compounce in CT, Six Flags New England in MA and Medieval Times in NJ, various NYC venues, etc..

The Day Camp is reserved for Pound Ridge residents and is offered for the six week program only and runs June 27th – August 5th For campers Kindergarten – 7th grade.
