Birding with the Pound Ridge Land Conservancy

Join PRLC Board member and birding enthusiast Matt Coulter …

…bright and early on Sunday morning May 5th at 8am during the best birding week of the entire year as we look for migratory birds at the varied habitats (woodlands, wetland and meadow) of the 70-acre Clark Preserve located off Autumn Ridge Road. We will be looking for , birds of prey and other visiting birds as they make their annual pilgrimage through our area.

It is during this pinnacle week that these migrants are in their boldest colors as they seek mating partners for their upcoming breeding season. Bring a brimmed hat and your binoculars, smart walking shoes and pants tucked into socks to ward off ticks. Matt will share birding tips- like how to focus your binoculars on a particular target in a tangle of branches or brambles- and try out a spotting scope.  A short woodland hike will lead us to a 5-acre meadow and abutting wetlands.

Meet at the parking lot off Autumn Ridge Road and the trail kiosk.
