We sustained some damage to our woodland areas but our Manor House, Playground and Outdoor Animal Exhibits are fine and ready for your visit.

SAT, NOV 10, 11AM – MAKE YOUR OWN HOLIDAY CARDS & GIFT TAGS WITH RECYCLED PAPER! – Artist Anne Shaw helps you personalize your holiday greetings, showing you how to make your own cards and gift tags from recycled magazines, newspapers, books, etc. Special techniques such as rolling and weaving paper, collage and origami will be explored. Participants leave with up to 4 unique cards (envelopes included) or gift tags. Members $8, Non-Members $10 ($35 for family). Sign up online. CLASS SIZE LIMITED TO 25.

SUN, NOV 11, 1:30PM – TURKEY SCAVENGER HUNT – Bring your toddlers to our traditional “turkey token†hunt along a trail. After the hunt, all “gobblers” enjoy snacks and nature crafts. Pre-registration online recommended. Members $5, Non-members $8. SAT, NOV 17, 11AM AND/OR 1PM — PUPPET SHOW: AUTUMNAL ADVENTURES — Join Jilly and her puppets on Autumnal Adventures at GNC. The animals are busy frolicing in the leaves and preparing for winter. You can too! So come join Jilly for singing, dancing, giggling, and Fall nature-ific puppet fun!
Recommended for ages 2-7. Jilly’s past shows have sold out which is why we are offering two shows—advance ticket purchase is strongly suggested and available online through our website. Members $5, Non-Members $8 ($25 for family).
SUN, NOV 25, 11AM – MEET THE ANIMALS – Our naturalist presents an informative and fun program for the entire family that allows you to get up-close and even hands-on with our FURRY, FEATHERY AND SCALY friends. Members $5, Non-Members $8 ($25 for family)
The Greenburgh Nature Center is a 33-acre woodland preserve with trails, a pond, gardens, a playground, and outdoor animal exhibits, including a birds of prey aviary. Our indoor exhibits include a live animal museum with over 100 specimens, exhibit areas focusing on nature and the environment, a greenhouse with botanical exhibits, and a gift shop. The Center offers programs for groups of all ages on a wide range of environmental topics, camps, adult programs, community events, and birthday parties, either here or at your location. They also have a wide range of volunteering opportunities for all ages and skill levels.
The mission of the Greenburgh Nature Center is to offer inspiring, hands-on environmental education experiences, to foster an appreciation of nature, and to promote sustainable practices.
The Nature Center is located at 99 Dromore Road, off Central Park Avenue, in Scarsdale, NY. Parking is free, and handicapped parking is available. The Nature Center’s grounds are open daily dawn to dusk throughout the year. The Center’s indoor exhibits are open daily except Fridays and a few holidays, 9:30AM – 4:30PM on weekdays and 10AM – 4:30PM on weekends.
