The Pound Ridge Theatre Company Celebrates 25 Years of great theatre!
PRTC, a non-profit company, was founded in 1986 by local residents. Its mission has always been to enrich the artistic and cultural life of the Pound Ridge community. PRTC performs classic, contemporary, and new works of exceptional theatre. PRTC moves, inspires, and provokes thought through its imaginative staging and casting. Over the years the company has formed lasting connections with new, diverse audiences and theatre artists.
Sherry Asch has been president of PRTC for the past 9 years; those who know Sherry say PRTC will continue doing what it has always done: build a partnership with the people of Pound Ridge and offer them great theatre close to home.
“We produce two full-length plays each season. DIAL “M†FOR MURDER opens November 4, 2011. Our spring 2012 play will be COLLECTED STORIES by award-winning playwright Donald Margulies. Additionally, the SECOND SUNDAY PLAY READING series begins in October and continues on the second Sunday of every other month through June, 2012. New playwrights are encouraged to submit their work to PRTC. And, for the children, Pound Ridge resident Sarah Moden-Alliston leads a KIDS’ MUSICAL WORKSHOP beginning February, 2012, during which they will write an original play based on the Narnia books, ending in performances for the public.
Our “theatre†in Conant Hall is full of fun, fantasy, adventure, romance, drama, tragedy – you name it – PRTC has it.”
Join them at PRTC’s 25th ANNIVERSARY GALA FUND RAISER on Thursday, September 22, 6:30pm at Ristorante Lucia, 454 Old Post Road, Bedford Village. The evening includes Lucia’s yummy food, wine, beer, soft drinks….and A MURDER MYSTERY for everyone to help solve! Become a character in the mystery and work with other “suspects†to solve it. Also featured is a SILENT AUCTION offering luxury vacation getaways, and the PRTC GIVING TREE, with all proceeds to be put into replacing our much-used equipment for enhanced productions in the 21st century!
