Bedford Hills Café Donates to Little League Fundraiser
BEDFORD HILLS, NY: The Bedford Pound Ridge Little League’s annual fundraiser to support one of the team’s trips to the Cooperstown baseball tournament was approaching and they needed to sell some good tasting treats in order to raise money and awareness for their upcoming trip. They turned to Panera Bread’s Bedford Hills café and requested donations. Panera happily responded with 150 bagels and 200 cookies for the Saturday and Sunday, April 9th and 10th fundraiser. The “Cooperstown†team sold old sports equipment and donated food items throughout the weekend and successfully raised $3,200 during the opening day ceremony as part of their fundraising efforts. At the end of the day any remaining bagels and cookies were brought over to “Neighborhood Linkâ€, an organization that assists day laborers in the area.
“I can’t thank Panera enough for their generous donation and support for our little league. The bagels and cookies were delicious and they really helped to raise funds for our youth,” states Susan LaColla, Committee Member with Bedford Pound Ridge Little League.
“The thought of kids playing baseball in Cooperstown brings a smile to our faces. We love to support the local Bedford Hills community, especially with needs like this,†states Tony Diaz, Operations Partner for Take Home the Bread, LLC.
