Thursday, September 25th

6:30 – 7:30pm Cocktail Reception at the Avon Theatre with Jazz Trio, Red Carpet Photos, Cocktails & Hors d’Oeuvres, and a pre-screening slide show.

7:30 – 9:30pm Opening Night Awards Gala with FREE popcorn and soda, Short Film Screening, Screenplay Readings, Awards for Student Filmmakers, and a Tribute Video for Anthony Tambakis, screenwriter of WARRIOR.

Friday, September 26th

12:00 – 2:00pm At the Avon: LUCKY THEM screening with a post-film Q&A with screenwriter Emily Watchel.

LUCKY THEM Synopsis: More interested in partying and flirting with young musicians than work, veteran rock journalist Ellie Klug (Toni Collette) has one last chance to prove her value to her magazine’s editor: a no-stone-unturned search to discover what really happened to long lost rock god Matthew Smith, who also happens to be her ex-boyfriend. Teaming up with an eccentric amateur documentary filmmaker (Thomas Haden Church in a delightful performance), Ellie hits the road in search of answers.

Saturday, September 27th

11:00am – 1:30pm At the Avon: ROPE Screening with post screening Talk Back with Hitchcock historian, Sidney Gottlieb (Editor, Hitchcock on Hitchcock).

ROPE Synopsis: One of Hitchcock’s most innovative films, Rope tells the story of two young men who strangle their “inferior” classmate, hide his body in their apartment, and invite his friends and family to a dinner party as a means to challenge the “perfection” of their crime.

The Film and Television Masters program (FTMA) at Sacred Heart University is a one –year conservatory dedicated to the art of storytelling. Students engage in dynamic classroom workshops and lectures focusing on directing, screenwriting, producing, and new media arts. Based in Stamford, FTMA draws from talent and resources in the area and neighboring New York City. Each student produces a cinematic portfolio and rounds out their experience with industry internships. For more information please visit FTMA.sacredheart.edu.
