As one of Food Bank for Westchester’s giving gardens, our half-acre Sugar Hill Farm headquarters supplies much needed fresh produce to area food pantries and soup kitchens.
Westchester Land Trust is a Farmland Match participant, too!
WLT volunteers have been an essential part of this program’s success—helping to plant, water, and harvest over 1,500 pounds of veggies for this worthy cause in 2012 alone!
The Sugar Hill Farmstand is an online, subscription-based delivery service serving premium meats, produce and specialty edibles from a collection of sustainable, small-scale farms across the Hudson Valley.
The Farmstand provides the ability to establish recurring monthly or bi-monthly subscriptions as well as place one-time orders. Hudson Valley, Westchester and NYC deliveries are made by hand, arriving on the second Wednesday of the month. Boston deliveries ship via UPS Ground for arrival on the second Thursday of the month.
All products are procured from family-owned farms, with packaging that displays the farm of origin, the farming methods used, and the distance traveled from farm to processor. The Farmstand makes it easy to put locally grown food on your table from spring through winter.
Westchester Land Trust was founded in 1988 by a group of residents of Lewisboro and Bedford who were concerned about the increasing pace of development in their towns, and who wanted to take action to protect environmentally-important open space and the character of their communities.
Today Westchester Land Trust has grown into a truly countywide organization. We have protected land in 28 communities and continue to seek land preservation opportunities throughout the county.
