The Pound Ridge Historical Society is pleased to announce the opening of its new exhibit. The Reservation: A Place for the Ages covers the history of the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation from geological and human aspects. Through artifacts and historic photos of the first inhabitants, to farmers and people of commerce, to the people who molded the park, to the past and current programs offered to the public, we hope to show the community what a gem and asset the “Rez” is. There are several pieces of vintage taxidermy of animals of the Reservation on display.
The collection on exhibit is borrowed largely from the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation’s Trailside Museum and is sourced from Images of America: Ward Pound Ridge Reservation by Beth Herr & Maureen Koehl, as well as Historic Notes on the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation 1640-1940 by Phillip A. Pessoni.
The exhibit runs from April 27, 2014 through November 30, 2014 from 2pm – 4pm. Preview opening at 1pm on April 27th. Admission is free. Donations gratefully accepted.
