FIREWORKS: Ridgefield Display set for July 4
The sky over Ridgefield High School will once again be ablaze with the vibrant colors and vigorous sounds of the red, white and blue fireworks extravaganza on Thursday, July 4.
“What could be better than family, fun and fireworks? Celebrating our Nation’s Independence Day with our community is one of our great highlights of the year. We are honored to once again sponsor the exciting and spectacular festivities,†says Gary Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ridgefield Bank, a division of Fairfield County Bank.
Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. for picnicking on the upper and lower fields with the fireworks beginning at dusk.
The Ridgefield Fire Department, Volunteer Fire Department, Police Department and Parks & Recreation have pooled their cooperative expertise and energy into a support system insuring a safe and scintillating evening of breathtaking fun.
Parking will be available at Ridgefield High School and Barlow Mountain School with shuttle buses taking celebrators from the latter spot to the site. No parking passes are needed and handicapped parking is available on the upper field of Ridgefield High School. Food is available but you may also bring your own picnic along, however no grills are allowed and it is an alcohol-free event. And of course there will be music! What better way to set the mood than with rousing renditions of patriotic songs.
Parking passes are $15 per car load and will be available at three Fairfield County Bank branches, two on Danbury Road in Ridgefield and the Georgetown branch. Â You can also purchase a pass at Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce and Town Hall. Â There will be buses that will run from Scotland and Barlow for overflow parking.
