Sometimes its a subtle light from the sun peeking through the window.  It could be a scent that jolts you with a warm memory or the sound of a crowd and a sax player in the distance that just turns the feel good on inside.  Its a complete Feng-shui aesthetic that functions inside us and encourages a person to return to this place.

That’s what happens when you visit North Star Restaurant in Pound Ridge. It is the combination of tasteful atmosphere with live music, wait staff that is attentive but not overbearing and the most important factor, the food is so unbelievably good.

Since 2005, North Star Restaurant owners Phil Maniatty and David Schlack have served fine American fare and homemade desserts in this comfortable space, where Chef Franz Fruhmann relies on local ingredients to create his seasonal menus. The restaurant has 46 seats and an additional 25 outside during the warm months.

Chef Franz Fruhmann, previously at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, serves a menu of American-fusion selections including pan-roasted halibut in a five-onion sauce, seared breast of duck, and Chilean sea Bass.

“We had Sea Bass with soy and a ginger beurre blanc. Muscovy Duck with whole wheat berries, bok choy and asian pear and West Coast Halibut, pan seared with a Meyer lemon sauce. We also split a side of sautéed spinach. We agreed that our meals were very, very good. We’re not appetizer or dessert eaters but any that passed our table looked very good.

Some other interesting things about it; they have a half price for a bottle of wine night on Tuesdays, music on Thursdays, outdoor seating and a good children’s menu.” says, Woody from Norwalk, CT

North Star Restaurant is a feel good Restaurant for all to enjoy.  You must stop in and visit  with Phil and David, even for just a quick drink and listen to some music.  Who wouldn’t want this great place right in their backyard!
